Baseball Season!

Oh how I love baseball season! I remember thinking to myself I'm not going to be that crazy mom in the stands hooting and hollering at their kids to GO GO GO! But sometimes I get so excited watching Michael play I just can't help myself.

 

It is fun to watch how he has improved over the last few years, but also heart breaking at how serious he gets about the game. This last week he missed a catch and struck out twice at bat and the tears began forming in his eyes.

As I tried to remind him its just 1 game, its happens to everyone, that only seemed to make it worse. So I walked away and gave him a moment to compose himself and back out to the field he went.

And while the big brother is trying his hardest to play like a pro, the little sister is hard at work lining up her figures and carrying on a unique conversation.

Even though there are some good plays and some bad, I can't wait til next week when we can watch it all over again.

Trip to visit Vinny & Sophie

We got to cross off our very first item off the bucket list yesterday. We took a rode trip to Vinny & Sophia's house for a play date. We enjoyed a quick lunch and then headed over to a park near by.

 

 

It was a rocket ship themed park, and it sure got their imaginations flowing :)

 

 

 

 

 

Lainey had no problem walking out on this ledge. Landon VERY slowly made his way out after her.

 

 

Miss Sophie got this new new turtle at the zoo yesterday, she loves his so much that not once did she put him down.

 



 

 

Michael, of course, had to bring his baseball bat and glove along. Luckily enough for him, his cousin Vinny was super excited to learn how to play!

 

The kids just had to climb on 1 more thing before we left so we gave them a quick 5 minutes to climb all over the cannon. And after ALOT of hooting and hollering to get them all to look, I manged to get 1 shot of 6 out of the 7 kids looking at me.

 

 

A fun day was had by all, and we marked this day down as success!

Bucket list

Our list has again been made. Last year I believe we accomplished 45 out of the 50 items on our list!

 

But by summers end we sure were tuckered out. So this year we are starting with 7 less things and will not fret if we don't get them all checked off.

The kids LOVED our pool so much last year that we got a bigger pool for this year, and I'd be ok if we spent all day long floating around in it and don't get much checked off the list. We shall see...

So long school!

As I send the boys off to their last day of school I quickly realize, I now officially have a 4th, 2nd  and a 4K student in my house! ahhh!!

Time for the summer to begin! Now if only the temperature will increase too :)

40 Years

This is an old post, that I guess stayed in the edit phase, so better late than never here it is now :)

 

 

Back in April we got together with Gary & Mary to celebrate their 40 years of marriage. We started the day off with brunch followed by a few good games of bowling.

 

This little gal hung close to her ball, as to not miss a turn.

And then when it was her turn, she took comfort on the floor to watch her ball SLOWLY roll down the lane.

Micheal had no problem tossing that ball down the lane. He just need to be reminded to take his time, since all we wanted to do was toss it as hard as he could.

After getting a quick lesson from her favorite Uncle Jeff. 

She was quickly able to catch on and keep up with the boys.

And this little man to my surprise did great, so great in fact that he beat his big brother on more than 1 game!

Now if only I'd a know they'd do so well, I could have taken them bowling more during the winter months.

Time flies by, again...

I tried telling myself, you must keep up with your blogging, but yet again time has gotten past me and little blogging I have done.

 

Tomorrow the boys head off to their last day of school and I again vow to blog more about our summer adventures. My hope is that one day they can take a look back at the fun or not so fun things we have done.

 

So bring it summer, as we are ready for you!

 

Zoo Time!

We had planned to head to the Zoo last Friday with the girls favorite little Friend Carter, but we got rained out. Even though they were calling for storms today, we took the chance and headed out.

We are so glad we made the choice to go as the day was absolutely perfect, 80 and not a cloud in the sky!

All 3 girls loved seeing the animals, and Erica and I loved how empty it was. The girls were free to run/walk around with no worries that we were going to lose someone in the crowd. They loved getting right up close and not having to fight their way up to see the animals.

We were not however too found of this pesky goose that got less then a foot away from Erica and I as we were sitting on our blanket eating lunch. But it sure made the girls eat quicker when we said he wanted their food ;)
