We headed out to our annual Drive in Movie last night. I was nervous that it wasn't going to happen since it had been raining all day. By 4pm the rain had stopped and we opted to head on out. A new theater was built last year a little closer to our house, so we opted to try this one out.
As we pulled in the kids quickly spotted a play set. I agreed to let them venture over as I unpacked the car, with the understanding that they must stay together at all times and holds hands while getting there. To my surprise the followed the rules.
They didn't last more than 10minutes there, because as soon as they saw their cousins arrive, they quickly headed back.
We tend to get to the theater 2 hours early to ensure a good spot. I make sure to bring plenty to do. This drive in was made in the parking lot of an old Walmart so I brought chalk to decorate our spot. We also had bubbles to pop and balls to play catch with.
We got comfortable in our cars and were ready for the movie
It was a cute movie. They all did great sitting still for almost the entire movie. Lainey of course had to play around in the car a bit, but once she ventured over to Shelley's truck, she sat still for the rest of the movie!
The boys wanted to stay for the double feature, The Lone Ranger. So we gave it a whirl. The girls fell asleep 10 minutes into the movie and Michael was asleep 30 minutes into it. Landon said it was boring, which I agree it had a slow start, so we opted to pack up and head on home.
We'll just wait for it to come out on DVD ;)
