Camping Fun

The kids had a few not so great moments on Saturday and they couldn't keep the naughtiness at bay. So I came up with the idea for them to build a fort, but guess who ended making it for them, that's right me.

They did head out on a walk with me to gather up all the branches and drag them back, then Steve and I went to work cutting them up and placing them just right.
The question is how well will it hold up while we are away...

Landon is loving that he learned how to make fires. He again put his fire building to use and built another great fire for us to enjoy on Saturday night.

My loves...

Off Grandma went with the kids for a walk around the island...

While the Daddy takes a nap on the grass.

Leave it to Grandpa to have firecracker fun for the boys. And luckily for me I can use that as bribery to keep them good the next 2 weeks! Grandpa told the boys if they are good, then when they head up north in a few weeks he will let them buy some more firecrackers.

Why would you throw just one into the fire-pit, when you can throw in an entire handful for a BIG bang!

A Mothers favorite home is a quiet ride home...

So Long baseball, Hello Football

Michael is so excited for football this year. Now that he's a BIG middle schooler he gets to play for the Rockets. We went Thursday evening to try on, and pick up all his gear and lets just say he is ready to play. Unlike Baseball, where there was very little practice, football means business! The first practice is next week Saturday for 4 hours! Followed by Monday thru Thursday practices for 2.5 hours! I sure hope he is ready for this.

Miss Lainey was just as excited to try on Michael's pads.

And she couldn't help but jump in for another picture with her big brother

Here's to looking forward to football season!

Landon' s camping trip

This year Landon's pack got to stay in the castle.

He opted for the bottom bunk, which he said turned out to be too noisy from the boy moving around up above.

While we waited for Landon to take his shower, the girls and their friend checkout the towers in the castle.

We headed over to the flag ceremony before supper.

And after supper enjoyed a campfire with s'mores and skits.

Landon did have a few tearful moments while we were there. Of course saying that he missed us, and buster. I reassured him he'd be home first thing in the morning to see us all again. He perked up again around the fire and even had a few laughs at the skits, which made me feel better!

At the end of the night these 2 Indians go around to the cabins and award the boys with their patches for the stay and the work they did.

Overall he said he had fun! Now I just have to convince him to try out the other camp next year :)

Disneyland

So it is officially 1 month since we went to Disney, so I figured it was time to finally sit down and post the Disneyland pictures.

We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day, the weather was absolutely PERFECT, and the lines were short!

My Aunt and her Granddaughter joined us for a day of fun!

We hit up Buzzlight year as soon as we arrived, and luckily got right on the ride!

A day at Disney wouldn't be complete without a ride on Dumbo :)

The girls wanted to check out Sleeping Beauties castle, so in we went.

(As you walk thru the castle the story is explained in pictures, but these were the only ones that turned out)

Next stop Pinocchio

The kids did amazing in the lines, but again I think it was helpful that they were quick and constantly moving.

We also made it thru Snow white and...

Mr Toads wild ride.

And then it was Nap time for little Miss Lainey

After a quick nap we enjoyed lunch in Toontown.

Landon, Lainey and I waited in line to meet Minnie Mouse, while the rest stood in line for a roller coaster.

Checking out Minnie's house.

And everyone joined us to meet Mickey.

We were greeted by Goofy when we got to the park, but had to check out his house too!

Next stop was It's a Small world, which everyone must ride when they go to Disney, because lets be honest, who doesn't want to listen to the same song over and over again ;)

And if you've never been on it, here's the video so you too can learn the song ;)

These 2 buddies stayed close all day long :)

We ventured over to grandpas favorite and the kids were not to found of it. It is a dark ride with 2 small hills that you can't see, and that was too much for them. They kept asking "why did grandpa tell us to go on this ride?" Oh well, maybe next time they'll like it better.

Then we headed over to my favorite ride, the haunted mansion. Again, after a lot of coaxing, we got them on it, it took them awhile to warm up to it, but in the end they liked it better than the pirates.

Next stop was meeting the princess

The girls REALLY wanted to meet Elsa and Anna, but the 2 hour line was just too long, so instead I stood in the door way and snapped this picture for them.

Then the 3 little took a ride on the carousel while Steve and Micheal hit up another roller coaster.

We found Winnie the pooh nestled away in the forest so we checked him out next.

We ended our evening with a relaxing show in another one of my favorites, the Tiki room.

And Lainey enjoyed the extra space to spread out and relax!

All in all is was a wonderful day! The kids made it a whole 13 hours, but when they were done, they were done!

They are already asking "When can we go back"
