Boys night out

Steve got invited to wrestling match with his sister and Uncle, so I figured why not take the boys too. They have just recently started watching it, because Steve watches it, and I thought how fun for them to have a boys night out!

Steve sent me this picture when they got there and I sent Landon along with his camera so I'll have to update this post tomorrow after I look through his camera to see if he got some good pictures :)

Popcorn, get your popcorn here!

It's popcorn selling time and the boys wasted no time hitting the streets and getting it done.

Michael however is not interested in selling popcorn. He says he doesn't want to go to camp next year, so therefore he doesn't need to sell it. I informed him that he will be going to camp and thus needs to sell his share. I know, I know call me a bad mom for forcing him to do it, but I know come next year when everyone else goes to camp, he'll want to go too.

So reluctantly he stuck it out.

Landon on the other hand, has his eyes on a prize. Unfortunately for him the prize he wants, requires that he sell $3,500 worth of popcorn.

Last year between the two boys they sold $1,600 worth of popcorn, so I'm not feeling too confident that we'll reach that goal.

But not once during our 2 hours going house to house today or hour and a half yesterday did he complain about selling. In fact he was really excited with his sales and now wants to set up a stand at the local gas station and try selling there too.

THIS BOY IS MOTIVATED!

I did check online
for this set to see what it would cost me if he doesn't reach his goal.

For $139.99 I may just have to buy it out right. Thank god Christmas is right around the corner, it may make a great gift. However if that is the case, I can PROMISE it will be GLUED together, as for the amount I would have to spend I would be a little upset if he lost a piece for it.

So for the next 4 weeks we will be selling, selling, selling!

With that said, would you like to buy some popcorn ;)

Michael's Up North photo's

A month later, but never to late to share. The boys went up north with my parents this summer. I gave each boy their own camera to capture some special moments.
Michael took a total of 88 pictures, but I narrowed it down to just a few.

A few of the finds he found along the trails.

.

Grandpa made sure to take a spin past Lambeau Field so the boys could get and up close look

The also made a stop at the Cabela's store to check out all the animals.

Vinny giving it his all on the tractor pull.

The boys checking out the firetrucks.

Working hard to get that tractor going!

While up north my parents visited a place we had gone to many times as kids. I can't recall the name of it, but it is a park made up of all cement statues. In the statues are all differents types of glass bottles in a variety of colors.

Cub Scout time!

School is back in full swing and that means its time for cub scout to begin again.

Tonight we celebrate getting things rolling with pizza party at the big pack meeting.

The boys took turns talking about all the fun things they did at camp this summer.

And the adults got the low down on the popcorn sales that we will be starting Saturday.

And we're off! Here we go onto year 2 of scouting!

New Zoo

Now that summer has come to and end we are finding ourselves with more free weekends. So we quickly put the zoo date on the calendar so we wouldn't forget.

We meet up with Jeff & Lisa at their house and headed up to the New Zoo in Green Bay

We have never been to this zoo, but we heard great things about it from Jeff & Lisa so we were excited to check it out!

The girls were able to get up close to the giraffes and feed them leaves, the boys on the other hand refused to step close to them....mmm my boys, scared of the giraffes...

I've always loved watching the polar bears at the Milwaukee zoo swimming under water, but today we got to watch the penguins zooming back and forth.

Take1 was Lisa trying to get a picture with the kids, however only Lainey was willing to go. Take 2 was the girls wanting to take their own picture with the gorilla.

There were so many animals to see and we made sure to see every last one of them.

Many of the stops we found ourselves stuck for awhile, locked into watching the animals. It was great they were so active today, and unlike the Milwaukee zoo where they are so far back, these animals were close and easy to see.

The whole gang!

And the silly otter doing tricks just for us, he kept our eyes glued on him for quite awhile.

What else could possibly be so interesting??

From both sides of the pond?

Why the frogs of course, can you find any?

While the boys stayed glued on watching the monkeys

The girls took a ride on the train!

After the zoo we headed back to Jeff & Lisa's for a pizza dinner and then headed back out for ice cream.

Because to be honest there's no better way to end the night than with an ice cream treat!

Which one do you think was the favorite amongst the kids? Of course the most colorful one right in front, the blue one, also know as The Superman!
