Play Date

Today I held my first coworker play date. I was a little worried about the weather as we watched the dark clouds roll in and back out, but luckily for us the day turned out beautiful.

Many new friendships were formed today. And Mackenzie is already talking nonstop about all the new friends she made today.

Between the pool, jumping house, bubbles and swing set I don't think there was one bored kid here today!

Or at least I hope not.

And since my baby days are over, I love cuddling all these super cute babies!

A fun day was had by all! After all the prep work that goes into throwing party I am so relieved it turn out perfect.

Clearly it was tons of fun, cause those kids just kept on going!

This little girl sure had fun, she lasted all of about 5 minutes at diner table before she quickly fell fast asleep.

Play hard, crash hard. Bring it summer!

Photo bomb from a weekend of fun

My cousin came into town from Florida with her 3 girls. They have never been camping so we did our best to show them a little bit of our camping life.

We started the day with some fun in the sun...

And ended the day with some goodies in our bellies.

Kites

We are slowly making waves on our bucket list, but since everyone wanted to hang out at home again we made ourselves some Popsicle treats.

Everyone got to work on their own task. Michael cutting the strawberries, Lainey finding the tops.

Landon pouring in the juice and Mackenzie putting in the pudding.

And while we waited for our treats to freeze, we headed out back to make use of the windy day!

Now we can only hope the 7 days of rain in the forecast goes away so we can get back outside again :/

Swim Success!

She did it! She headed right into the locker room with a look of determination! Nothing was going to stop this girl today!

I couldn't have been happier! Last night we headed to another local school to practice in their pool since ours didn't have open swim hours. The boys did a great job teaching Mackenzie all the things the teacher was going to be showing her in swim. I too went in the water and walked her around just like the teacher was going to do. We left that pool with her doing "cannon balls", or so she called them, off the side of the pool into my arms.

On our car ride home we all again worked on prepping her that this pool is just like our school pool and how fun swim was going to be. "I'm going tomorrow" she insisted.

And that she did. There was no, me holding her down trying to put her suit on, there was no telling her to get back in the chair while watching the boys swim. Instead Lainey and I enjoyed waving and giving thumbs up like crazy!

Who know maybe it wasn't all the "practice" we did last night. Maybe it was really the new toy that she got to pick out on our way to the open swim. The toy that had to stay in the car all night long waiting to be opened after she went to swim. Whatever it was, it worked! I just hope it works tomorrow too.

After a hard workout at swim they all deserved an icee. So Michael pulled out the mixer

And a mixing they did! A little too loud for some ears.

And everyone loved them, except for Miss Mackenzie, who refused to try it...

here we go again...

Swim Lessons begin

This is it! This is the year we are going to have no screaming children that are afraid of swim lessons...
 or so I thought.

I've been talking up swim lessons the last few days in hopes everyone would be ok with it. Michael, as usual, was eagerly waiting to jump in the pool and get started. Landon was showing no fear either. But Miss Mackenzie quickly lost interest the second we walked into the changing room.

I was hoping I wouldn't be the mother of the screaming child, but yesterday I got stuck with her.  She lasted about 30 minutes sitting poolside crying and giving me those little eyes that were saying please Mom come get me. I sat on top, waved gave a few thumbs up, but that wasn't enough. She eventually got up and ran out the door and found me.

After a ice cream treat for everyone except her, I thought for sure today she'd go in just to get her treat, but nope, today she flat out refused to keep her suit on.

So we headed to swim once again. The boys had fun while Mackenzie got stuck sitting in the chair to watch. Here's to hoping she will go in on day 3...

We did make the best of our not so fun morning yesterday and ventured to Possibility Park in Port Washington. Since we were there bright and early at 9am the park was empty, which made it way more fun to have the park to ourselves!

Where's Landon?

We took a walk to look at the lake and found these neat stairs. So down we went to check out the beach!

The kids quickly filled up some spare sandwich bags with shells and back up the stairs we went.

And if that wasn't enough fun for the day, we ended the evening at Michael's baseball game to watch him pitch his very first game!

It's no wonder why the kids don't want to do anything today, we sure had a busy day yesterday!
